Plugins that require root access

In general, the Netprobe should be run as a regular user on your platform. However, there are plugins in Geneos that require the Netprobe to run with root permission on Unix or as local administrator on Windows to run properly. The vendor metric added in Netprobe GA4.5 requires root permission. Otherwise, it displays as "NA". This metric is only available for Linux, but not other Unix platforms. For more information, see the Hardware plugin. |
