Cannot access OP5 Monitor using Merlin dashboard

After updating OP5 to a version later than 9.17 we get an HTTP ERROR 500 when trying access out Merlin Dashboard GUI. Alarms and alerting still appear to work but the GUI which uses Merlin dashboard is unavailable.

OP5 uses PHP version 8 as of OP5 version 9.18 and this appears to break the Merlin Dashboard software.
The Merlin Dashboard git-hub README states that merlin-dashboard had a requirement of PHP 5, and there appear to have been no updates to this software for 10 years.

Possible solution(s) Copied
Merlin Dashboard is not an officially supported component of the OP5 Monitor release. As noted in our documentation, “the merlin-dashboard falls outside the scope of OP5-supported features”.
The developers of Merlin Dashboard may be contactable, but our Dev/Eng Team is unable to make changes, apply fixes, or enhance the existing Merlin Dashboard code.
