Deployment options
Before installing ITRS Analytics, you must choose the deployment option that best fits your environment. This topic explains the available deployment options and helps you decide which one aligns with your infrastructure, security, and network requirements.
The deployment options are designed for different scenarios based on two key factors:
- Kubernetes cluster availability — whether you already have a Kubernetes cluster or need ITRS to provide one.
- Network connectivity — whether your environment has internet access or operates in an air-gapped (isolated) network.
The deployment options are categorized into two main types:
- Bring-Your-Own (Kubernetes) Cluster (BYOC) — this is the recommended deployment model, providing you maximum flexibility, control, and enterprise-grade resiliency by using your existing Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Embedded Cluster — this option uses the built-in Kubernetes cluster (k0s) provided by ITRS and may be suitable for small-scale or trial deployments, but comes with certain trade-offs and limitations.
Each type is available in both online and air-gapped variants, giving you flexibility to match your security and connectivity requirements.
