Machine.ref

Every Opsview host is assigned a unique machine reference code, commonly referred to as its machine.ref. The machine.ref is stored locally on each Opsview host in the /opt/opsview/var/machine.ref file.

Here is an example machine.ref: dd9edf43-979b-4114-873e-4a66237c1d5e.

A machine.ref is useful for various tasks such as identifying which Opsview host a message queue relates.

Within the database this is noted as the collector_ref; shown in the opsview database, within the collectors table.
