Windows self-announcing netprobe won't connect to gateway
Issue: Windows SAN couldn’t make a connection to Gateways. Debug logging didn’t help.
Root cause:
- The netprobe.setup.xml file was somehow saved in Unicode encoding. This may look the same on a text editor, but the Netprobe is unable to parse the contents.
Solution:
- If you use Windows Notepad, save it again by selecting the drop-down Encoding: ANSI near the bottom.
Note: After the Windows notepad is converted to ANSI, the self-announcing netprobe is successfully connected to the gateway.
