Early Adopter (EA) Program User Guide
By exploring features included in the Early Adopter (EA) program, you can gain valuable insights into how you can enhance your monitoring and analysis workflows. Whether you are a seasoned Geneos user or new to the platform, the EA program provides exclusive preview to features such as Entity Viewer.
Early Adopter preview
Features in the Early Adopter (EA) program are subject to change, and are only available to customers who opted into the program. If you have feedback or would like to join the EA program, contact your ITRS representative.
The following features are available under the EA program:
Entity Viewer Copied
Use the Entity Viewer app to monitor and analyze entities in real-time. You can customize views to filter entities and easily navigate and deep-dive into specific entities or metrics of interest. The app also provides instant access to historical data and enables you to conduct log investigations alongside metrics and events.
You can do the following in the Entity Viewer app:
- Login to the web console and navigate to different apps
- Use Entity Viewer to see entities and severities
- View instant history
- See data in different ways through context groups Easily share views
- Expand views into its own window
- Directly trigger commands
Login to the web console and navigate to different apps Copied
You can access the Entity Viewer app in an easy-to-navigate, web-based interface. Quickly change default UI settings to suit your preferences, such as which home page or time zone to select. Viewing in dark mode is also now supported as an option. For more information, see UI overview.
Use Entity Viewer to see entities and severities Copied
Quickly check the severity levels across your IT estate from a single pane. As updates are received, the colors of tiles and chips in the app alert you of changing status. When viewing an entity, you can drill-down data on its associated metrics, attributes, logs, and more. For more information, see About the Entity Viewer app.
View instant history Copied
Set a desired time interval for your historical data using one button and instantly view your historical charts.
See data in different ways through context groups Copied
Create targeted groups for specific contexts across your IT estate. This produces separate dashboards complete with state trees that are tailored to relevant teams. For more information, see Add a new context group.
Easily share views or contexts Copied
Spotted an interesting metric? Conveniently share a link to your current view in the app with your team for collaboration.
Alternatively, you can choose to Export your current context as a JSON file, or choose to Import one.
Expand views into its own window Copied
Even with a user-friendly interface, navigating large amounts of data can be overwhelming. Splitting the view into multiple tabs instantly creates separate workspaces, making it easier to monitor metrics of interest.
Directly trigger commands Copied
While viewing an entity or metric, easily run commands that are set up in Gateway. For more information, see Commands.
