ITRS Analytics Upgrade Notes

This document outlines important upgrade considerations when upgrading your ITRS Analytics. Please read the relevant section before upgrading to ensure a smooth transition.

General upgrade instructions (all versions) Copied

Regardless of the version, upgrading ITRS Analytics from a lower version may reset some configurations. It is strongly recommended that you follow these steps during the upgrade process.

Verify and adjust hostnames Copied

If you configured a custom hostname in your existing installation, make sure to manually verify and update the hostname setting after the upgrade. It may not persist automatically.

Reinstall optional apps Copied

Optional apps are not retained automatically through the upgrade. Re-select and reinstall any apps you had previously chosen to ensure feature parity post-upgrade.

Downgrading to earlier versions Copied

Downgrading to an earlier version is not supported. Please ensure you back up all configurations and data before upgrading.

Version-specific considerations Copied

Upgrading to version 2.9.1 Copied

When upgrading to ITRS Analytics version 2.9.1, please be aware that a race condition may occur during the Timescale/PostgreSQL upgrade process. Additionally, the PostgreSQL migration may take longer than usual to complete, especially in systems with large volumes of data.

If you encounter any issues during or after the upgrade, please contact ITRS Support for assistance.

Upgrading to version 2.9.0 Copied

Direct upgrades from ITRS Analytics 2.8.1 or earlier to 2.9.0 are not supported. However, an upgrade path is available from to version 2.9.1.

Upgrading to version 2.8.0+5 Copied

If you are running version 2.8.0+4 or an earlier release, the Storage Class name field is read-only and cannot be modified. This setting becomes configurable only during a fresh installation starting with version 2.8.0+5.

Once the cluster has been installed, these values can no longer be modified. This limitation applies even if you update the configuration using the KOTS Admin Console, attempt to make changes through the advanced configuration settings, or upgrade to newer IAX versions.

Note

Any storage class configured in versions earlier than 2.8.0+5 will be retained and carried over when upgrading to version 2.8.0+5 or later.

If you need to change the Storage Class name after installation, this must be done manually, outside of the KOTS Admin Console. Make sure the correct Storage Class names are set before starting the initial install.

Upgrading to or installing version 2.8.0+6 or later Copied

Upon the initial installation or upgrade to ITRS Analytics version 2.8.0+6 or later, you must select whether to install:

This selection is permanent and cannot be changed in future upgrades. Please carefully consider your requirements before making this choice.

Required release and upgrade paths Copied

A required or mandatory release means that all users must upgrade to that version to maintain support, security, or compatibility. These releases often include critical patches, foundational changes needed for future upgrades, or updates that address deprecations in earlier versions. Skipping a mandatory release can lead to system issues or block further upgrades.

Required releases Copied

Refer to the latest ITRS Analytics Release Notes for complete information.
