Difference of Old and 2026 License

Currently, if you create a new License you will need to select OLD as the Format. If client has GA7.8.0 LICD then they will need 2026 Format of License.

Old license:

• version 7.7 and below marked as OLD
• Old LRF = Text

2026 license:

• version 7.8 and above
• New (2026) LRF = Binary and encrypted

License Formats: OLD vs. 2026 Copied

There are currently two license formats:

• License FORMAT: OLD (Compatible with LICD version GA7.7.0 and older): The OLD format uses readable plain-text strings

• License FORMAT: 2026 (Compatible with LICD GA7.8.0 and newer): The License FORMAT: 2026 utilizes a binary and encrypted file structure to provide enhanced security
