Gateway - ERROR: GatewayLoad Unable to read file <filename>.xml. Errno: 2
Problem: Copied
When starting the Gateway, an error appears in the logs stating: “Unable to read file
Actual example of error details:
ERROR: GatewayLoad Unable to read file gatewaystats.xml. Errno: 2
ERROR: GatewayLoad Unable to read file stats.xml. Errno: 2
The default name for this is stats.xml and this option can be found on the Operating Environment > Advanced tab:
Possible cause(s): Copied
- Root Cause 1: Incorrect File Path: The Gateway might be looking for gatewaystats.xml in the wrong directory.
- Root Cause 2: Permissions Issue: The Geneos Gateway process might not have the necessary read permissions for the file.

Start the Gateway with a -stats flag
-stats |
Enables gateway load monitoring statistics collection from start-up. This flag can be useful in diagnosing gateway performance issues only seen on start-up, rather than those occurring during normal gateway operation. |
