Netprobe - Why does my Netprobe keep disconnecting?
There are many reasons to why a Netprobe could connect and disconnect often. However for the scope of this article, we’ll focus on the following error message:
<Thu Aug 11 12:30:52> INFO: ProbeManager Licence for hostname1234 (hostname1234:7036) is currently unavailable.
The error above can be related to two things:
- First, it could be that you’ve run out of license slots for a particular sampler or number of servers that you’re allowed to monitor.
- Or secondly, it may be that your Licence Daemon (LICD) is in a shutdown/disconnected state.
If you’re running a Licence Daemon, it’s important to monitor it. If you already have it set up, then you should be looking at the connected value:
Otherwise, if you don’t have that already monitored, go ahead and set up a new sampler. Select the Gateway-licence usage plug-in as you see in the screenshot below. The default settings will give you the view you want.
You should now be able to set your rules up so that you can keep track of that information.
