Why did netprobe crash with the following message: " ERROR: NetProbe Restart Message: IMPORTANT - Contact your support provider; if supported directly by ITRS then mailto:support@itrsgroup.com (0) otherwise your usual support contact " ?

This is a Netprobe memory protection that protects the monitored host against potential memory leaks caused by the Netprobe and/or its plug-ins. It can also be triggered by plug-ins that start-up later than the original Netprobe start, for example the start of the trading day or similar. There are two things to do before we can definitively state the cause: 1. Upgrade the Netprobe. Please upgrade the Netprobe version if it is old or outdated. The Netprobe is constantly updated with fixes for the Netprobe itself and various plugins. You may also check the Release Notes for the versions that contain memory leak fixes. 2. Investigate the issue with Netprobe debug options. The Netprobe log with debug should be reviewed for unexpected trends of memory usage.

  1. Enable the following Netprobe’s SAMPLING, SAMPLINGMEM and MEM_UTIL debug settings:

73e3718f 45a2 4bef 915b 44508577ae61

  1. Save the configuration.

  2. Wait for the message or event to happen.

  3. Raise a support request and include the following:

  4. Complete Netprobe log file (old and current)

  5. Netprobe version and architecture

  6. Netprobe OS version

  7. Gateway diagnostics file
