Creating recurring downtime

Use recurring downtime to create maintenance windows that repeat automatically on a defined schedule. You need the DOWNTIMESOME permission to create a recurring downtime.

Schedule and duration Copied

  1. Navigate to Monitoring > Recurring Downtime and select the Recurring Downtime tab.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Complete the following fields:

    Field Description
    Name Required. Unique label for the recurring schedule.
    Duration Length of each downtime window. Enter a number and select a unit: seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
    Start Date Date and time the recurrence begins.
    End Date Optional. Enable with the End repeat toggle, then select a date. No further scheduled downtimes are created after this date.
    Recurrence Type How often the downtime repeats: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
    Recurrence Interval Gap between occurrences, from 1 to 99. For example, 2 with Weekly means every 2 weeks.
  4. Depending on the Recurrence Type selected, complete the pattern fields:

    Recurrence type Pattern option Description
    Weekly Select one or more days of the week Choose the weekdays when the downtime repeats.
    Monthly On the Nth Repeats on the same day of the month as the Start Date, for example On the 15th.
    Monthly On the Nth Weekday Shown when the Start Date is not the last occurrence of that weekday in the month, for example On the 2nd Tuesday.
    Monthly On the last Weekday Shown when the Start Date is the last occurrence of that weekday in the month, for example On the last Tuesday.
    Monthly Last Day of Month Always available and repeats on the final day of each month.
    Yearly Select the month The day is taken from the Start Date.
    Daily None No additional pattern fields.

  5. Click Next.

Select objects Copied

Select the objects that the recurring downtime applies to.

  1. Expand the host group tree to browse available targets.
  2. Select one or more objects. You can select Host Groups, Hosts, and Service Checks.
  3. To adjust the schedule, click Back to return to Schedule and duration.

Save the schedule Copied

Click Save. The dialog closes, the new schedule appears in the list, and a confirmation notification is displayed.

If there are validation errors, they are shown inline. Correct the highlighted fields and click Save again.
