Gateway Sharing "Import Severity" is not working

Cause Copied

Release GA4.5.0 introduced new options for Gateway Sharing import and this resulted in a change in the configuration schema. The original true/false tick box for importing severity from the remote gateway was changed to a drop-down with options for withSnooze and withUserAssignment but this may cause problems if you are still running GA4.4 or below.

Solution Copied

The Gateway’s working schema is the highest version available from all other connected components, typically Netprobes, and so while your Gateway may only understand an older schema some of the options will now be hidden and marked as Deprecated. In this instance it means that if you enable import severity using the drop-down it will not work as expected.

To resolve this you must enable the Show Deprecated option in the GSE (Gateway Setup Editor) and then if you navigate to the import section you will see the old Import Severity setting under the Advanced tab of the connection profile, like this:

Import severity setting

You will now see severity imports for this version correctly. You may have to also enable the other, newer drop-down if the configuration is shared, for example through includes, with newer gateways. The older setting should still work but it is best to use the new options to ensure you get the new features on updated Gateways.
