Active Console - Filter dataview that saves via export metrics
There are several ways to apply filters to a dataview in the Active Console, and the available options depend on the sampler you are using. Some samplers include built-in filtering capabilities. For example, the Gateway-SQL sampler allows you to filter the dataview directly by using SQL statements within its code block.
The most commonly used and general filtering method is the Filter Table feature. This option can be accessed by right-clicking on the dataview and applying the desired filters to the table.
You can set the filter by editing this tab below:
This feature can be used to exclude specific rows or columns, or to focus on monitoring particular data points. However, one limitation is that these filters are temporary and will be lost once the Active Console is closed.
As an alternative, you can create a persistent filtered dataview that can also be shared with colleagues.
Metrics Overview
You can access this feature by navigating to Tools → Metrics Overview, then selecting the appropriate sampler type.
After selecting a sampler, a new pop-up window will appear. This window can then be docked within the Active Console Dockables.
You can dock this new view by clicking the square icon located next to the close tab icon.
This newly created metric view can also be modified through the Dockable Manager. To access it, navigate to Active Console → View → Dockable Manager. From there, you can update the name, change the dockable type, and adjust other settings as needed.
After doing the above, you can now apply the filter table on the new metric dockable.
You can use the same filter table steps described above.
Once the new metric dockable has been filtered, the configuration will be retained even after restarting the Active Console or the server.
Additional: You can export the metric dockable and share it with your colleagues.
To do this, right-click on the left side of the metric dockable and select Export Metrics View.
After clicking it, choose the location and the name of the exported metric dockable.
After saving it, you can share the metric dockable configuration.
