Authentication - How do I assign permissions or roles by group?
-
Create a role under Authentication > Roles and define the necessary permissions.
-
Add a
Role Propertiesname. This is an important step as this will be the reference to the role when configuring the user/user group.
- Under Users, select the target group and specify the same Role Properties name. All users within this folder will have the same Role permissions.
To read more about this configuration, see Assigning roles to users, Users (tcproject/docs/geneos/current/security/access-controls/geneos_authentication_tr/#users), and User Group (tcproject/docs/geneos/current/security/access-controls/geneos_authentication_tr/#user-groups).
For more information on how to set or restrict commands, see Can commands be disabled or restricted for certain users?
