How to run the RMC replayer

Refer to the following steps for details on installation & execution:

  1. Download the Geneos RMC Recorder from the ITRS Download Site.
  2. Put the RMC recorder file in place and modify the hostname. For example, client provided the file containing:
ttduk01mds-4015.1.adh.serviceGenerator.srcPrdServicePool.IDN_DEV.route_IDN_DEV.route.284
  1. Change it to the following:
centos_support.itrsgroup.com.1.adh.serviceGenerator.srcPrdServicePool.IDN_DEV.route_IDN_DEV.route.284
  1. If you want to simulate having the same RMC component process running, rename the RMC Replayer binary accordingly; for example, from RMCReplayer.linux to adh because ttduk01mds-4015.1.adh.serviceGenerator.srcPrdServicePool.IDN\_DEV.route\_IDN\_DEV.route.284.
  2. Put in the hostname in the Debug tab of the RMC-interface plugin.

RMC-interface plugin debug

  1. Run the Replayer using the following syntax:
RMCReplayer.<platform> -f <path to RMCRecorder file> -k <shared mem key> -s <memory allocation>
./adh -f adh_recorder.txt -k 81 -s 5000000

You will see the message: Replay finished ... CTRL-C to terminate

Note

It is important to note the following:

  • Bit of binary means bit of netprobe.
  • Run the Replayer first before running the probe.
  • If you wish to run the Replayer again, clear the memory first.

Please find attached rmcReplayers: rmcReplayer.linux_64= for linux 64 bit
