Application - Microsoft Exchange Opspack (Deprecated)
Deprecation Notice
This Opspack is deprecated and will be removed in a future release. It may not be present in your installation of Opsview.
Microsoft Exchange Server provides users with a calendaring and mail server, which helps in providing secure email software for businesses across the globe as well as protecting their data. It is available as a hosted service or it can be run across your own internal servers.
Exchange Server has integrations with Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive for Business that enhances collaboration when receiving, editing, and sharing documents without ever having to leave Outlook. A simplified architecture brings new levels of reliability with automated repair and faster recovery.
What You Can Monitor Copied
Opsview Monitor’s Microsoft Exchange Opspack lets you monitor multiple statuses on the server, this includes:
-
Check SMTP send/receive transports
-
Monitoring Transport queues
-
Monitoring of DB Instances and more
-
All of this is done through WMI, making it extremely easy to set up, implement and monitor. In addition to monitoring your Windows servers, our Opspack allows you to monitor queues and services for Microsoft Exchange.

Setup and Configuration Copied
Microsoft Exchange can be monitored via WMI and/or the Opsview Windows Agent or ITRS Infrastructure Agent, depending on your needs.
Current checks for the Agent support Microsoft Exchange 2007. They may also support later releases, but support is not guaranteed with the Opsview supplied checks. Additional checks, for use with the agent, can be quickly written in Powershell should more monitoring functionality be required.
WMI checks work with any version of Exchange configured to support access via WMI.
For more details on WMI configuration see: Monitoring Services with WMI.
