Plug-ins that require root access
Overview
In general, the Netprobe should be run as a regular user on your platform. However, there are plug-ins in Geneos that require the Netprobe to run with root permissions on Unix or as local administrator on to run properly.

Hardware |
The vendor metric added in Netprobe GA4.5 requires root permission. Otherwise, it displays as "NA". This metric is only available for Linux, but not other Unix platforms. For more information, see Hardware Plug-in in Hardware Plug-in - Technical Reference. |
Trapmon |
