Infrastructure Agent 2.x Release Notes

The Infrastructure Agent release notes contain a list of enhancements of features, and a set of issues fixed in the 2.x release version of ITRS Infrastructure Agent. Any fixes from previous release dates are included in the latest release.

Before installing the Infrastructure Agent, you must check the supported versions. For more information on configuration, installation, and usage, please refer to the ITRS Infrastructure Agent documentation. For the latest highlights, see What’s New in Infrastructure Agent.

Note

While Opsview Agent remains supported, we recommend new and existing users to use the ITRS Infrastructure Agent when deploying new monitoring. Opsview documentation version 6.8.4 or earlier remains a resource for Opsview Agent information.

OP-65833 The check_counter windows plugin can now match counter names with spaces and non-alphanumeric characters. However, the optional \\computer prefix and wildcards for instance names are not supported.

OP-65601 Updated the Infrastructure Agent to include the following improvements:
  • The Infrastructure Agent now runs as a non-root user, infra-agent, enhancing security by minimizing system privileges.
  • The package and installation files for the Infrastructure Agent have been configured to support this change, with updated file and directory permissions and ownership.
  • The startup.log file is now located at /opt/itrs/infrastructure-agent/var/ for improved organization and accessibility.
OP-69163 Added step to modify agent-generated certificate permissions during package upgrade.
